Information on who funds and builds Overton
Overton was built and is maintained and updated by Open Policy Ltd, a UK company based in London.
Overton is the company’s main product and sometimes we trade under that name.
We’re a bootstrapped start-up – we don’t have any external investors and we’re not part of a larger organization. Instead we’ve grown the team and product slowly using revenue from customers.
Our team have backgrounds in academic libraries, think tanks, biomedical research and bibliometrics – we love this space and our aim has always been to create something genuinely useful that makes life easier for researchers, research managers & comms or impact staff.
Overton’s director Euan previously founded Altmetric but we have no relationship with Altmetric or Digital Science (though they’re also based in London – we’re still friendly!).
